Design Your Own Invitations

We are now offering invitation designs.  We will design your invite for you and send you a pdf or jpg of the file.  You can then print them at home or take them to a printer yourself.  

This is perfect for weddings that are on a budget, birthday parties, events, etc.  You give us the information and we will do the design work for you.

We have over 10,000 available fonts. No matter what event you are planning, we have the font that is perfect for it.

Lolli You're So Funny

While sewing day & night, many amusing instances arise.  this comic is a depiction of one of those instances. 

This one had me rolling on the floor.  Lolli had a laptop case and told me to make sure that spiderman was on the front of it.  HeHe.  Lolli you are so special.  This type of case doesn't have a front or a back.  I still laugh thinking about that night.  It's the little things that get us through the crazy days.

JoJo Learns to Sew

Shortly after we started our Etsy site in January 2011, I (JoJo) bought a sewing machine.  I decided it was time to venture beyond crocheting, knitting, and jewelry making.  I mean how hard could it be, right. /wahaha One of my first projects was a "simple" dinosaur stuffed animal.  (See Below).  The poor little dinosaur didn't make it.  It was deflated, and sad and frustrating. 

I soon realized that I am not good at following patterns.  I have to take what it in my head and figure it out and just go.  Patterns are confusing and annoying and the dang paper never stays in place. X(  I began making fabric kindle cases and small purses.  After months of design changes, we have some amazing cases for ereaders.  When I got my first iPad for Christmas 2012, I immediately made a stand case for it and started selling those as well.

I am by no means an expert.  Things go wrong.  The sewing machine has a life of it's own sometimes.  This can be very frustrating.  Where is Lolli when all this is going on?  She is silently sitting at here desk and hoping for the storm to pass.  I get a bit angry when things don't work out /omg  :D

Take the night, I did my first Kindle zipper case as a custom request for someone. After hours of trying to get the zipper in correctly.  I turned it inside out and was so happy it was almost done.  Then, I realized, I sewed the zipper in upside down.  Lolli just ran from the room. /blur  I was sooooooo mad.  

It's a crazy journey, but we are in it.

The Misadventures of JoJo and Lolli #1

How do two sisters, one a lawyer and one a chemist, become the operators of an online store that sells handmade products. It all started with a Christmas gift. We both received kindles for Christmas 2011, and I, JoJo (aka Amanda) quickly made felted covers for them. Everyone kept saying I should sell the things I crocheted. That is when I came upon Etsy.com, a place to sell handmade items.

Within days we had opened our Etsy shop. The2SistersShoppe. It took awhile but we are now a thriving enterprise and loving every minute of it. With our friends JoJo and Lolli (seen above), we will bring you the stories of triumph, failure, craziness, and everything else that goes into our shoppe.

Kindle Covers

We are hard at work making a variety of kindle covers right now. We will be participating in a holiday shop here in Tampa, FL starting at the end of November 2011 through the holiday season. We are making kindle covers, kindle sleeves, laptop cases, passport covers, and purses for the shop. We Have Buttons

Sorry it has been so long since the last post. The2Sisters were on vacation.

We are back now and at it again. We are adding buttons to our shop. We just got the button maker in the mail a few days ago and have added 4 button designs to the shop so far. We have more to come, including personalized and custom buttons.

As well as buttons, we will be making pocket mirrors and key chains. We are excited about all the possibilities this is going to bring.

Personalized Portrait Shirts

The2SistersShoppe has a unique new item. We now make personalized shirts from photos that you send us.

Here's how it works:

1. Email us a photo (you can also send it to us in the mail if you do not have an electronic version of it)

We scanned this photo into our computer

2. Prepare the photo for the screen. All images need to be black and white in order to put them on the screen for screen printing.

The dark background was removed from the picture

Then the picture was changed to black and white

3. Make the screen. The screen is prepped with emulsion then dried. The photo is printed onto a transparency film and laid on the dry screen. The screen is hit with special light and all the black spots on the transparency will wash out. So the black parts of the picture are the parts that the ink will go through

4. The screen is blasted with water then dried.

5. The screen is flooded with ink and placed on the shirt. We then squeegee over the screen to get the ink on the shirt. The ink is heat set and the shirt is done.

This shirt was made from a copy of a photo from 1980. Newer photos will have more detail. Also, the brighter & better quality the photo the better the screen.

New Designs

Sorry it has been so long since our last update. We have been hard at work on new designs as well as promoting our shop. We are Our passport line now has 7 unique passports and we are working on adding more. Honey is working on some new jewelry designs with intricate beading.

We will keep you up to date on all our new products and promotions in the next few days.

Printable Coupons For JoAnn's

Found some great printable coupons here for JoAnn's. Scroll to the bottom and there is one for 20% off your entire purchase, including sales items. Just thought I would share with all my readers, since most of you are fellow etsians and cutting costs on supplies is top priority.

Also, just in case you did not know, you can use more than one coupon at a time. They may say only one per customer, but they are referring to only one of that specific coupon. If you have a 40% off one item, a 50% off one item, and a 20% off entire order, you can use them all. We saved about $40 the other day using 5 coupons.
